Open Toe Ankle Boots

The boot lover in me loves open toe booties, especially in summer months, when you can easily wear them when out on a cool summer evening.
These Hive and Honey Genne Boots would look adorable with skinny jeans, leggings, jeggings or a cute summer dress. The style is sexy, sexy, sexy!

These ankle boots feature a 1″ platform and a daring 4 1/2″ heel, and 100% leather uppers. Absolutely hot boots at a very cool price of $59.99 right now (reg. price is $139.99!)

Made of luxury materials belt purses come as fantastic accessories for girls who dislike to carry bags in hands or wear those on shoulders. Such a pouch is roomy enough to hold a credit card, tiny mirror and lipstick but small enough to look harmonious with the outfit.

Shoe Trends Fall/Winter 2010/2011

To always stay in a rushing stream of fashion one needs to know the trends. Taking into account the fact shoes are no less important than garments it is esential to know the shoe trends for the upcoming season – Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011.
Fur boots. Winter is cold in majority of countries around the globe, so fur boots will certainly become a hit. No girl will ever refuse to wear stylish boots like Chanel or Lanvin’s.

Laced-up boots. Laces are getting very popular. So, laced-up boots trend comes as no surprise to us in Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011. Such footwear is very comfy and looks great, but taking it off can be a problem.

Shoes with buckles. ‘The more buckles the better’ sounds the slogan for Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 season. Buckles look interesting and provide great support and fixation for the foot. However, they bring the same problem as laces – it takes time to pull them off.

Stiletto shoes. Stilettos aren’t always easy to sport but the fact they look gorgeous is undeniable. That is why if you feel you can walk on super tiny heels this shoe trend is everything you might want.

Both shoes and boots can come with spike heels. They look feminine and totally stylish.

Chunky heels. Although stilettos look glamorous chunky heels are much more comfortable. And plenty of women prefer being safe and comfy rather than sexy and scared of falling down. So, chunky heel is one more shoe trend for Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011 season.

Wedges. The popularity of wedges has already faded but their practicality still makes designers pay attention to such kind of shoes. If you are a fan of this shoe trend, go ahead and purchase one more pair of pretty wedges.

Thigh-high boots. Thigh-high boots were a hugefootwear trend last season. We have seen celebrities and ordinary girls wearing these everywhere. And luckily such boots are going to be still hot for Fall/ Winter 2010/ 2011, too.

High heel + High platform. This shoe trend isn’t for girls who love looking womanly. But it does look chic and intriguing.

Combination of colors. To brighten up our footwear designers have chosen the technique of combining colors. Yellow goes together with brown, red is mixed with pink. More variables are possible. Just look at Balenciaga shoes!

Sandals With a Touch of Summer Sizzle

Pretty Low Heel Summer Sandals
Pretty Low Heel Summer Sandals
These pretty summer sandals from Moda Spanda Talon combine the feelings of summer ease with summer sizzle. They are perfect for laid back summer bbq’s and gatherings not just because you can slip them on and off so easily (like when you get tempted to jump into that awesome pool. Just saying.), but because they are so darn cute but stylish at the same time.
You could wear these sandals with shorts, summer dresses, and of course, jeans. I really think these low heel sandals would work with almost any summer outfit.
The heels are low (1 3/4″) for extra comfort as you stroll the party. The stone embellishments add a charming chic look to these shoes. They are available in a very nice looking bronze, as well as a cool silver. But I think the color shown here, which is called a Platinum Gold Antique, is fabulous for summer.
And guess what? They fall under the $70 price range!!

Clogs…..They’re Back….!!

Clogs Are Back in Style
Clogs Are Back in Style
I have a couple of pairs of clogs in my closet. And yes, I will admit they are currently enjoying an extended shoe “Time-Out.” I just never liked the look with jeans (which I wear constantly. So now you know I am not a fashion maven so much.), and the ones I have never felt comfy enough to make me yearn to put them on.
But clogs are making quite the comeback this year (just wait till we sail past summer back into the fall season!) and I am happy to say that I am seeing some styles I love. My favorite look is the open-toe clog heels. They seem more stylish and cute, and less cloggy and hospital-like (have you seen nurses wearing clogs …. somehow the shoes lost their charm for me when I saw them up and down hospital corridors. But that’s another story for another day. Maybe.)
These suede open-toe clogs by Steve Madden are fabulous looking. These shoes I can see paired with a cute pair of jeans. I love the soft camel color, but they are also available in black. They feature a 4.5 inch heel and 1.25 inch platform soles.
Do you think if I bring home a pair of these babies, my closet-hidden clogs would get jealous?

SJP Donates Shoes For a Worthy Cause

sarah jessica parkerSarah Jessica Parker recently donated 3 pairs of her high heels to a worthy charity: Shoe Revolt. This organization was started by Newport News resident, Ateba Crocker. The goal of Crocker’s charity to is to help fund shelters for underage victims of sex-trafficking. Shoe Revolt will sell donated shoes starting in August to raise the money.
Of course the best shoes will likely come from celebrities, such as Parker. And although Crocker reaches out to a lot of celebrities, it was The Sex and The City’s star’s amazingly quick response that impressed Crocker so much.
“It was less than a month ago that I sent a letter to Sarah Jessica Parker,” she says. “It was such a quick response. I’m very thankful for her donation.”
Sara Jessica Parker sent three pairs of autographed shoes: a tan pair of suede leather heels; a pair of black cowboy boots; and a pair of sneakers with rhinestones that Crocker dubs “glitter sneakers.” “They look like her,” says Crocker. “She’s the ’shoeista’ queen. I’m a fan of her … and her style … and her shoes.”

Tips To Stretch Shoe Budgets

Got shoes with worn soles and heels stashed in your closet? Shoes you would normally love to step out in again, but the wear and tear just wore them out? Here are a couple of tips to help keep your favorite shoes last longer so you can enjoy them more:
The number one reason shoes are thrown out? Because the soles get worn down. To prevent this from happening, go to a shoe-repair shop and ask them to glue on a sole protector. Experts say this can add up to seven years to the life of shoes!
I know with my high heels, I seem to wear down the tips on the heels way too quickly. Shoe experts advise that plastic tips should be replaced with rubber; But do this before the plastic tips get worn down. Heels are held together by tiny silver pins and if the heel is worn down too low, these pins can be hammered in so deep they can’t be repaired. Amazon.com usually sells replacement heel tips, and you can always go to your local shoe repair shop or dance shop.
If you can take the time to stuff your shoes with newspaper when you take them off, this trick will help soak up moisture that otherwise will breakdown materials. Plus, the paper will help keep the shape, and keep your favorite footwear looking newer longer!

How Much To Spend For Prom Shoes?

A reader recently commented on how expensive it can be to buy prom shoes for his daughter, pointing out that she will have two proms at least to attend while in high school. It made me start thinking about parents and teens and all that spending that goes along with this age (all ages really, but something with teen girls as I am now finding out just sends shopping budgets spiraling!). How much do you as a parent of a teen spend each month on shoes, clothing, and special occasions like prom?
Will/do you go all out and buy whatever he/she wants no matter the price? Or do you try and be practical and buy what is affordable, even if your teen prefers something else more pricey?? And for you parents of prom-going teens that are in search of some budget friendly shoes, here are some possibilities I have found — pretty, and while maybe not meant for longevity and durability, they will fit the bill for Prom night, so to speak! At under 40.00, I would say that these are prom shoes or any special occasion shoes that will fit a budget and be fun as well! Check out these shoes, and more, here.

Celebrity Shoe Fashion Gone Bad

Ah. Fringe on yellow shoes is not a good idea in my book. Can you guess which celebrity stepped out wearing these brightly colored fringed peep toes?
Want a hint?
This celeb is a new mommy (Which may account for her lack of fashion sense recently- hormones, lack of sleep, you know…..)
Give up?
The lady in yellow (shoes) is none other than new mom, Christina Milian. Check out Christina’s entire ensemble here.

Got Prom Shoes?

Got prom shoes yet? If you are still shopping for the perfect prom shoe, here is a favorite pick of mine! Not only are these pumps too cute, your feet will love the exclusive “foot pedals” comfort cushions in these shoes. And we all know how much feet can hurt when dancing all night!
These prom favorites feature an open-toe and 4.25 inch heels. If you are looking for a color other than black heels, these also come in brown, fuchsia, navy, and red satin. And the price is pretty nice for these shoes as well at about $85.00.

Jennifer Lopez Rocks the High Heels at Movie Premiere

At the Miami premiere of her new movie, The Back-Up Plan, Jennifer Lopez wore a stylish Spring 2010 Monique L’huillier dress…simply stunning on J-Lo. And the heels Lopez is wearing? Love em? I do. They are from the Spring 2010 Lanvin Collection.
While Jennifer’s latest movie may not be getting the best reviews, I give her five stars for this outfit!

Wickedly Gorgeous High Heels

Pour La Victoire certainly knows the way to a woman’s heart! These stunning high heels are part bootie, part strapped sandal and 100% sexy.
They feature a 4.25 inch heel and 1/2 inch platform soles. I am madly in love with the look of these shoes. The woven detailing is stylish and elegant, and the back zipper makes these bootie-styled high heels easy to put on and take off.
Also available in black, but for spring and summer, I would have to go with the this gorgeous light grey color.
But a black pair of these shoes would be oh- so- nice for fall and winter!

Steve Madden Platform Sandals

These gorgeous Hitower Platform sandals from Steve Madden are my idea of a “spring fling!” I think they would look great paired with some white jeans or with short summer skirts. The black and stacked brown double platform is 1 1/4 inches and that stacked stiletto heel…..how does 5 inches sound? Sure, maybe these high heels are not meant for a whole day of walking around town, but surely you would turn heads having these beauties on your feet for a short stroll, don’t you agree?

I mean, look how great Nicole Richie looks in them?
I love the ankle buckle and the looped straps at the vamp.
These shoes also come in a pretty cool bronze color, but my first choice would be the black. Yes…I know it is Spring and we are heading towards summer…..but still, those black platform sandals are just too pretty to keep in a closet!

Jimmy Choo Embroidered Denim Flats

Yes, I know these shoes do not meet the criteria of a blog focusing on High Heels, but theseembroidered denim flatsfrom Jimmy Choo are just so darned cute I took the editorial privilege of choosing to share them with you!
Now admit it….even if you came by here looking for some interesting stilettos or peep toe pumps, you are smiling as you check out these fun spring shoes.
And now you are imaging lazy days of summer in these sweet flats. Soaking up some sun in a park, strolling outdoor bazaars, enjoying a picnic….or just kicking back reading a summer novel.
And wouldn’t these embroidered flats make a ridiculously cute and envied Mother’s Day present?
I know you love them. Who wouldn’t? Go ahead, dream. Or better yet, indulge yourself (or your special Mother’s Day person) and get a pair. And if you would like to send me a pair as a Thank-you gift for finding you a perfect Mother’s Day gift, please feel free. Size 7, please.

Birkenstock Goes High End

birkenstock high heels
Love these Birkenstock high heels? You can have a pair. For only $625. No, that is not a typo. These new high end Birkenstock high heels were designed by Stella McCartney and are a mix of Woodstock with a bit of Carrie Bradshaw.
Not your regular old comfy $70 Birkenstock sandal by any means, though they do have a Birkenstock-esque buckled strap and the signature comfortable cork sole. But these high end Birkenstocks feature a 5″ stiletto heel and as mentioned before, a very large price tag.
So, what do you think? Love ‘em, Hate ‘em? If you had an extra $600 laying around, would you consider buying these high heel Birkenstocks?

Prom 2010 : Got Shoes?

prom shoes
Pretty prom shoes are exactly what these RSVP Corrine High Heels are. Elegant but simple, these shoes will look lovely with so many different prom dresses, and will be veryversatile heels for wearing after prom.
Featuring satin fabric with a satin rosette, these RSVP pumps also have a hidden 3/4 inch platform. The heel is not too high, nor too low at a perfect 4 inches. And the platform should keep these shoes more comfortable for prom night dancing.

pretty prom shoes
I am also loving these Nina Electra high heels. The thin ankle strap just adds a touch of flirty fun along with the elegance of these shoes. The heel is a bit shorter at 3 3/4 inches, and these pretty prom shoes also have a hidden platform that is 1/2″.

These RSVP Vicky high heels are fun, flirty and ready forprom night. These lovely shoes feature leather lining with satin covered 3/4 ” heels, and a detailed satin pleated upper with a satin Rosette.
A very pretty and sophisticated shoe for Proms.
